Fernanda Díaz
|

Fernanda is an attorney in the Anti-Piracy/Counterfeit department with experience in Intellectual Property rights enforcement, by both filing and follow up of administrative and criminal procedures. Her experience in administrative procedures extends from initiating an administrative procedure and seizing goods at Mexican Customs checkpoints to destroying IP rights infringing merchandise. Regarding criminal procedures, Fernanda is experienced on the issuance of “querellas” (special type of criminal complaint) at the Attorney’s General Office and follow up of the criminal procedure up to the eventual destruction of the infringing goods. Likewise she participates on the training of Mexican Customs officers about Intellectual Property issues in Mexico, emphasizing on fighting counterfeiting/piracy and on the detection of counterfeit goods at Customs checkpoints. Her main interest lies on IP rights protection at non-traditional media, such as the digital environment by filing domain name disputes at World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center regarding both Generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) and Country Code Top Level Domains (ccTLDs).
