Olivares, Jr.Sergio Olivares Jr. joined Olivares & Cía. in 1987, becoming a partner in 1994 and Chairman of the Management Committee in 2009. After his graduate work, Mr. Olivares trained with two prominent Intellectual Property law firms in New York City, Morgan & Finnegan and Kenyon & Kenyon, before joining Olivares & Cía. He graduated in 1991 from Universidad Intercontinental (UIC) holding a JD degree, as well as a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in the United States. Mr. Olivares acted as International Vice-President of the Asociación Mexicana para la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual (AMPPI) for the 2005-2007 term and is a former Mexican delegate for the Asociación Interamericana de la Propiedad Intelectual (ASIPI). He is a member of various other associations and has been a speaker and moderator at numerous events both international and domestically. Sergio Olivares Jr., has published several articles and papers in international journals on the topic of Intellectual Property Law. Mr. Olivares work at Olivares & Cia. is extensive, and he has vast experience in the prosecution and litigation of Intellectual Property rights, particularly trademarks, copyrights, patents and unfair competition. He has specialized his practice in all types of Intellectual Property Law, but predominantly focuses on trademarks, prosecution and litigation.
