Home » Our People » Partners » Antonio Belaunzaran Antonio BelaunzaránAntonio Belaunzaran joined Olivares & Cía. in 1988, becoming a partner in 1994. He counsels clients in relation to all aspects of trademark law. Prior joining Olivares & Cía, Mr. Belaunzaran worked in one of the biggest Mexican Law firms dealing with matters related to Corporate and Custom Law. He also worked for a US Law firm in McAllen, Texas, advising companies involved in the “maquila” industry; he was also the General Counsel of a Mexican company dedicated to the paper industry. He graduated from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in 1984, where he presented his professional thesis “El Control Jurídico del Comercio Exterior en México” (Legal Control of Foreign Trade in México) Mr. Belaunzaran, has published several scholarly articles for specialized IP magazines such as The Trademark Yearbook and Marcasur. He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) where he has been a speaker, moderator and active member in many roundtables. He is also a member of the Asociación Mexicana para la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual (AMPPI), the International Trademark Association (INTA), the European Community Trademark Association (ECTA), MARQUES and the Mexican Group of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). Mr. Belaunzaran’s work at Olivares & Cia. is extensive due to a large practice in trademark law including both prosecution and litigation. Mr. Belaunzaran has received personal recommendations from Chambers Latin America, the Guide to the World’s Leading trademark experts, Which Lawyer? And Who’s Who Legal. Mr. Belaunzaran has been nominated as a leading practitioner in Mexico by Who's Who Legal 2011. |
